The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has applauded the dedication and resilience of workers across the region, emphasizing that their tireless efforts remain the backbone of its development and progress.

Speaking at the 2026 International Workers’ Day celebration held in Ho, Hon. Gunu declared that the continuous rise of the Volta Region is anchored on the strength, commitment, and determination of its workforce.

“The Volta Region is rising, and it will continue to rise on the strength, commitment, and resilience of its workers,” he stated.

The Minister highlighted the critical role workers play in driving socio-economic growth, stressing that government remains committed to supporting initiatives that empower the labour force and improve working conditions across all sectors.

He further called for unity among workers, institutions, and stakeholders to sustain the region’s development momentum, urging all to contribute their quota towards building a stronger and more prosperous Volta Region.

The May Day celebration brought together workers from both the public and private sectors, traditional leaders, and government officials, all united in recognizing the invaluable contributions of labour to national and regional development.

Hon. Gunu reaffirmed government’s dedication to policies that prioritize job creation, skills development, and youth empowerment, positioning the Volta Region as a hub of growth and opportunity in Ghana.
