The Queenmother of Ho Bankoe and respected judge, Mama Bobi III, has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to education and youth empowerment by donating more than 70 Lenovo ThinkPad laptops to selected schools in the Volta Region.The donation forms part of a broader initiative aimed at bridging the digital divide and improving access to technology for students.

Speaking during the presentation, Mama Bobi III revealed that a visit to the United Nations last year opened the door to a transformative opportunity. Through engagements with distinguished Ghanaians, she secured a total of 200 computers—comprising 150 Lenovo ThinkPad laptops and 50 desktop computers—with the vision of strengthening digital learning in schools.

Rather than assigning the task to representatives, the Queenmother personally visited the beneficiary schools in Ho to present the computers, describing service to her people as the highest calling of leadership.The beneficiary institutions included Sonrise Senior High School, Kabore Primary School, RC Primary School (Mixed and Girls’ Sections), EP Primary School, and LIFE-MAC Africa, which was specially selected in recognition of its outstanding contributions to STEM education across the Volta Region.

In all, more than 70 Lenovo ThinkPad laptops were distributed, providing students and schools with essential digital tools to enhance teaching, learning, research, and innovation. Addressing students and school authorities, Mama Bobi III emphasized that the initiative was about much more than donating computers.

“It was not merely a transaction of technology; it was a covenant of hope for our children.” She described the emotional experience of watching students receive the laptops, noting that each device symbolizes a gateway to opportunity.”Each screen we placed before them is a window to possibility, a bridge across the digital divide that has held our communities back for too long.”
