Dear Hammer,
I hope you’re well. I know this message will surprise you but I wanted to pen down this message to you. It’s been about 24 years of knowing you and counting. A few days ago, I was reflecting on a few moments in my life and being thankful to God for how far he has brought me. I couldn’t for a second forget how God sent you as an angel into my life.

You may not know how deep you’ve impacted my life but a young 15year old boy who was so inspired by your music and beats, found meaning to life at a very early age and how I wanted to meet you in person and be as great and impactful as you.

You changed me for good and triggered an emotion in me that created part of the person I’ve grown to become. You named me “Jay Foley” I remember that day so well, and that alone was enough to turn me into what I was to become in the future. That day at the entrance of Hush Hush Studios
I walked in your footsteps, I played beats like you, and believed in everything you embodied.
Till today, anytime I hear your productions from Obrafuor, to Tinny, to Kwaw, to Paa Dogo, to Bollie and the list is endless…. It brings back a renewed spirit of how impactful I wanted to become in life, just like you.
Your music was and still is different. It’s iconic, original and a game changer.

You are my hero, my Godfather, my special Angel God sent to set a tone of where I was to go and what I was to become.
Hammer of the Last Two – I can’t give you money and cars to say thank you, but may my success be a gift to what you’ve done for me in my life without you even knowing.
To the other boys of blessed memory – Mr White, Blitz, Scizo and the others who aren’t on earth with us anymore, I’m sure they will tell God a lot more about you 🙏.

You triggered Jay Foley. You struck a chord on your keyboard that started this journey for me. If the world today has benefited anything from me, then it’s because you were part of the people who started playing the tune of my life.

Big ups Hammer. Ghana owes you a lot too. You put money in the hands of many. You gave many musicians a reason to be who they are today.
Just as i found ny Hammer, may everyone else find their Hammer too.
Thanks a lot Ol Gee…

Love
A Soldier of the Last Two
